Learning to adapt when life stops being comfortable
Sometimes you improvise. Semper Gumby.
What finally got to me yesterday was not one big thing.
It was the accumulation of little things.
The propane tank cap still isn’t fixed.
Still no hot water.
A few days ago, I washed my hair in the sink and microwaved water to make it tolerable.
What surprised me most was how fast the water turned cold.
Not minutes.
Seconds.
So for the shower, I used a trick I learned back at boot camp.
Get wet. Step back.
Only this time, I turned the water off.
Not like I had to worry about the water getting cold.
Soap up.
Turn the water back on.
Rinse.
Sometimes in life, you don’t get the conditions you wanted to work with.
So you learn to approach things differently to reach the same result.
Not comfortable.
Not ideal.
But sometimes you improvise.
Semper Gumby.
